Uma das grandes vantagens da música raiz foi, sem dúvida, a criação de personagens que se tornaram Ãcones do cancioneiro sertanejo. João PacÃfico criou, por exemplo, a Cabocla Tereza e o Chico Mulato, dois personagens que fizeram parte de algumas de suas canções.
Sem dúvida um dos personagens mais importantes da história da música raiz foi o Ferreirinha. Segundo a canção, ele morreu ao cair e ser arrastado pelo cavalo. O clássico da música sertaneja que leva o nome do personagem conta a história de toda a “gambiarra” que um de seus companheiros fez para carregar seu corpo de volta para a cidade. E segundo o autor da música, trata-se de uma história verÃdica.
A música já foi gravada até por Chrystian & Ralf, mas o vÃdeo de hoje é com a dupla do autor da canção, Carreiro & Carreirinho. Essa moda fez de Carreirinho um dos mais importantes compositores da música sertaneja.
